Looks like you already got some info, so I'll let the experts handle that topic. I know basically nothing about IR filters other than the fact that older Blackmagic's absolutely need them. They've been my daily driver for years with absolutely zero issues even at high frame rates in 4.6k DNG. Not sure about compatibility with the 2.5k but if other people like them specifically in that camera, they have my vote. You'll thank yourself for doing it right.Īs for SSDs, I use 500gb and 1tb Samsung 860 Evo's in the Ursa Mini Pro and they're awesome. As you noted, power is important and I wouldn't go messing with crazy adapters and converters. They power the pockets for 6+ hours and the Ursa for 3-4. I have several of these v mount batteries for my Pocket 4Ks and URSA Mini Pro, and they've been awesome. I'm just nervous about running into things I wasn't aware of when it arrives or possibly missing a key piece of gear that would leave me unable to use it. This will be my first time owning a cinema camera, and I can't wait to see the images this camera produces. Is there any cheaper solution for this issue? If your model is not listed, please use the search function. It looks like you can either go for something at the sensor level, and those filters cost around $300-400, or you can get a filter that goes over the lens, which I've found costs between $50-100, which is still a bit expensive for me at the moment. Lastly, I've heard this camera really needs an IR filter. Regarding SSDs, I know of a list of compatible SSDs that exists for the BMCC, but is there a reason for other SSDs to not work? ![]() Are the Sony BP batteries any better? Are there any good entry-level V-lock batteries? Any other solutions? I've got 2 of the small Sony NPF batteries, but I read that those probably won't power the BMCC for very long, not to mention, most NPF plates online look pretty janky. ![]() I don't have V-mount money to spend, but I also don't want to spend $20 on something that might fry my camera/house/both in a month's time. So for power, there are many many options. Here's what I know I'll need from the get go: ![]() I absolutely am not looking to spend a lot on rigging right now, since I can't, but I would like to get the basics, hopefully without limiting upgradeablity for the future. I'm doing it! I'm getting my first BMD camera, and I'm extremely excited for it! Only problem is, I'm very very tight on budget at the moment, and I'm not sure what the smartest way to go about rigging it is.
